DeLanee's Story

10 years ago, Becky and Tommy, were blessed to be pregnant with their second child. Shortly thereafter they learned that they were going to be parents to a little girl, but the probability of their daughter living for very long was extremely low. Their daughter was diagnosed with a condition called Dandy-Walker Cyst. The doctors believed that their baby girl would deteriorate and pass away during pregnancy, but much to their surprise DeLanee developed until 28 weeks gestation when she was delivered and lived for three hours. As you can imagine, these 3 hours was precious time that they spent as a family with their daughter taking pictures, bathing, dressing and holding her until she passed away in their arms. Upon DeLanee's passing, the nurses brought the family a box to put their daughter’s belongings in to take home with them. Because DeLanee was born in January the nurses were able to find a leftover Christmas box. That Christmas box became extremely special to them and they clung to it and the contents inside that held their daughter’s precious belongings as they left the hospital without their baby. It was because of this box that the inspiration for Lanee’s Legacy began. . .

A very special lady!

Words just cannot express how we feel about the very special lady pictured here, Marlo Alder. Marlo lives in a rural part of Southeastern Arizona. Not only has she done tremendous things to help her own community and local hospital (Mt. Graham Regional Hospital), but her efforts have reached far and wide as hospitals all over Arizona have benefited from her service and support. In 2010, she held a box making with her church group and local college students from Eastern Arizona College. In 2011, she held a fundraiser in memory of her son called "Loops for Logan" which raised much needed funds for our organization. In, 2013 she drove a very long way to assist us with our "Remembrance Box Making" only to turn around and drive right back home (getting home very late). Now, in 2014 her and her awesome husband obtained a donation from Freeport McMoRan Copper and Gold in the amount of $2,500.00!! This was something she worked very hard and diligently for as she accomplished all that was needed in order to continue to support bereaved families. Marlo - we love you! We love your kind and generous spirit and all the hard work you have committed to for families in need. You are truly an angel! Our biggest thanks to Marlo, her husband and Freeport McMoran for their amazing generosity!
